Since 2018, SEAQIS has developed three flagship programmes that set the focus and central themes of all its activities — responding to the 7 SEAMEO Priority Areas and the roadmap for 21st-century education in Southeast Asia.
Each flagship responds to specific science education needs in the region, and together they reinforce one another.
An integrated learning approach that brings together science, technology, engineering and mathematics to solve real-world problems. SEAQIS develops STEM models, modules and training for teachers across Southeast Asia.
Integrating computational thinking (CT) into science learning — not just teaching coding, but building skills in problem decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction and algorithmic thinking in science contexts.
A dedicated climate change education programme that integrates climate science and real-world action into science learning in schools across Southeast Asia. SEACEP builds teachers' awareness and capacity to become agents of change for climate action in their communities.
All three SEAQIS flagship programmes were developed in direct response to SEAMEO Priority Area No. 7: 21st Century Skills Development. SEAQIS believes that 21st-century skills — critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and digital literacy — must be built through relevant, contextual science education. STEM Learning builds a problem-solving mindset. Computational Thinking builds digital literacy. SEACEP builds global awareness. Together, they form a single, mutually reinforcing ecosystem.
Each flagship comes to life through concrete programmes — training, workshops, research grants and resources. Choose the one that best fits your classroom and school context.
